An Aboriginal Mental Health Learning Experience

Recently, kidsLINK was instrumental in presenting the Aboriginal Mental Health Learning Experience for MCYS Central West Region, aimed at increasing participants’ knowledge and skills specifically related to the delivery of mental health services to Aboriginal People. Participants learned about the intergenerational impact of trauma upon Aboriginal people and communities. Staff of agencies with Aboriginal clients attended the 3 day sessions, which featured noted speakers Kelly Brownbill, Hilton King and Kathleen Absolon. kidsLINK will be expanding on this training with self-study programs and webinars.
Another New Walk-In Counselling Service
Front Door is pleased to announce that it has opened another Walk-In Counselling Service, running out of Lang’s Farm Community Health Centre located at 1145 Concession Rd in Cambridge . Sessions at this location are on Thursdays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (last session starts at 4:30 pm). Sessions are provided on a first come, first served basis.
